A journey of faith and storytelling
Like many young adults, the author experienced loss and confusion, particularly after the early passing of her father. Acceptance of Christ, she says, helped her broken pieces come together into a beautiful pattern. She hopes to reach all ages, but especially young adults who feel uncertain and inept to face life's heartaches and challenges. Christian readers will find all characters relatable, even if not personally confronted by the same conflicts. The themes of redemption and grace woven throughout 'Born for This Moment' reflect this journey.

Words as art: A unique style
The author views words and syntax as art, sculpting ideas and style from years of study and practice. Influenced by Christian fantasy authors like C.S. Lewis, Dorothy Sayers, and George MacDonald, she weaves themes of redemption and grace into a fictional world. 'Born for This Moment' offers moral clarity in a world of moral relativism, presenting a fun, magical world filled with allegorical characters like Chaucer, the winged French bulldog, and Bickerwheel, the 1,000-year-old resident of a magical house.

From classroom to Christian fantasy
A degree in English Literature and Art from Mercer University led the author to an unexpected path: teaching middle school in a remote rural town. Initially hesitant about working with children, she soon discovered a passion for helping neglected and abused students. This experience, along with subsequent years teaching and tutoring, profoundly shaped her understanding of resilience and the power of connection. Throughout the years, she honed her craft, publishing poetry and studying writing and literature.
